The Lamu County Government on Friday issued 900 title deeds to residents of Kizingitini in Lamu East.

It was a moment of celebration for the residents, who had waited for 50 years for the land ownership documents.

Addressing residents at the Kizingitini Social Hall during the event, Governor Issa Timamy said his government will speed up land adjudication and ensure more than 10,000 people receive title deeds by July.

He said the county government will work closely with the National Land Commission to achieve this.

The governor further said his administration is committed to fulfilling its pledge to settle thousands of people in the county.
