Ousted Embu Governor Martin Wambora will know his fate on Wednesday.

High Court judges Cecilia Githua, Hedwig Ong’udi and Boaz Olao, sitting in Kerugoya, are expected to deliver their verdict this afternoon.

Mr Wambora was impeached by the Embu County Assembly for allegedly violating public procurement and finance laws. He was later kicked out of office by the Senate.

The Senate, which was acting on the resolutions of the Assembly, claimed there was sufficient grounds to send the embattled county boss home.

Dissatisfied with the decision, Mr Wambora moved to court to challenge his removal. Mr Wambora argued that the removal was illegal as due process of the law was not followed.

He told the judges that the 11-member committee formed by the Senate removed him even after a court order was issued restraining it from doing so until the case he had filed was heard and determined.

Mr Wambora wants the court to quash the decision of the Senate and reinstate him in office.
