Cord leader Raila Odinga on Thursday said he will use the March 7 Malindi by-election to show that Kenyans were fed up with the Jubilee government.
The seat fell vacant following the appointment of MP Dan Kazungu as Mining Cabinet Secretary in November last year.
Mr Odinga said time was up for the Jubilee government, saying it must “pack up and go”.
He said Kenyans were fed up with the Jubilee regime over attempts to mortgage the country by engaging in a looting spree.
"We want to show Jubilee that Kenyans are decided by retaining the Malindi parliamentary seat come March 7,"he said.

Mr Odinga has also been in the area, with Kilifi governor Amazon Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho and dozens of Cord MPs.
Addressing a crowd at Oyugis market in Homa Bay County Thursday evening after presiding over an investors’ conference in neighbouring Kisii county, Mr Odinga said should Jubilee refuse to go, then Kenyans will send them home.
"Kenyans are fed up with the government that is out to leave behind huge debts that will overburden them," he said.
The Jubilee government has been rocked with corruption allegations, the latest being the National Youth Service and the Eurobond saga that Mr Odinga claimed led to loss of Sh140 billion.
In the NYS matter, former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru has now implicated National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, and DP Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet.
More than Sh1.6 billion is said to have been stolen in the NYS scandal.
The ODM leader also took issue with the series of fundraisers by DP Ruto. He claimed Mr Ruto spends more than Sh50 million every month on fundraisers.
"Where does he get the money that he dishes out at fundraisers yet his salary is only Sh1 million?" he posed.
Mr Odinga was accompanied by Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti and MPs Joseph Magwanga (Kasipul) and Silvance Osele (Kabondo Kasipul.)
At the same time, Mr Odinga expressed disappointment with the low number of people coming out to enlist as voters in Luo Nyanza.
He urged the MPs and MCAs to go back to their respective areas and oversee the registration.
Mr Odinga also asked the 58 party officials that were elected during the grassroots elections right from the polling stations to county levels to also support the efforts by both the MPs and MCAs.
