Six die after matatu and tractor collide

Six passengers died after their matatu collided with a tractor on the Kitale-Webuye highway in Bungoma County on Friday evening.
Bungoma North OCPD Stephen Mwoni said the seven-seater matatu popularly known as Kangaroo rammed into a tractor ferrying sugarcane from Kitale to a factory in Kakamega County.
Mr Mwoni said the incident occured at Kamukuywa, and the dead include four men, one female and an infant.
The injured were taken to hospital.
Enraged locals burnt the tractor.
