A court in Garissa has ordered a repeat extraction of DNA sample from a suspect in a defilement case.

“We would like to request the court to allow us to take the accused back to the hospital for blood samples to be taken again,” the prosecutor told the court.

The Chief Magistrate Cosmos Maundu ordered the suspect Musa Mohamed to be escorted to the Garissa Referral Hospital for the extraction.

The man is accused of impregnating a Class Three pupil in Tana River County on May 5, 2016.
