Boy, 14, mauled to death by stray lion in Isiolo

A 14-year-old boy has died following an attack by a stray lion at Dadachari in Isiolo County.

The boy who succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Isiolo County Referral Hospital, was buried on Monday, hours after the attack.

Isiolo Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) senior warden Peter Mbote said the deceased was attacked by the lion that strayed from Biliko Bulesa conservancy to their home at around 1am on Monday.

“Cases of human-wildlife conflict have been experienced but attacks on livestock are common,” said the KWS officer.
