Vietnamese arrested with ivory, 30 lions’ claws
A Vietnamese national was arrested Wednesday evening on the Kenya-Tanzania border at Namanga after he was found with 12 pieces of ivory weighing 50 kilograms, 30 lions’ claws and eight teeth.
The 46-year-old man, who hid the ivory in a suitcase, will be arraigned Thursday.
A statement from Kenya Wildlife Service stated the man was travelling from Tanzania to Nairobi through Namanga border post.
He is being held at the Kajiado Police Station awaiting arraignment.
