Teamwork made students do well, says Maryhill principal

The principal of Maryhill Girls High School in Kiambu County, Ms Jacinta Njeri Ngure, whose school emerged number six nationally, has attributed the success to teamwork, hard work and discipline among the students.

Maryhill had 337 students who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams this year.

Out of this number, 25 students scored plain As, while 117 scored A- with the lowest student scoring a C- minus.

Ms Ngure told the Nation by phone that she was greatly excited by the results which are a big motivation to the students who worked hard.

CHRISTMAS GIFT

She said the good results are the best Christmas gift to the students, parents and the community at large, who are part of the success.

“We have emerged number six nationally and this is a great testament that hard work, teamwork, discipline and commitment pay,” said Ms Ngure.

She said the students’ willingness to be helped, coupled with a great human resource in terms of teachers and non-teaching staff, was also key.

“I would like to thank the human resource, made up of teachers and non-teaching staff very much for making this possible,” said Ms Ngure.
