15 suspects arraigned over examination malpractice

Fifteen staff seized Monday evening at Monianku Secondary School in Kisii over examination malpractice will spend five days in police custody to allow prosecution conduct further investigations.
The suspects were charged Tuesday with being I possession of exam materials without any lawful reason.
Resident Magistrate Margaret Nafula ruled that the suspects be remanded at Nyamarambe Police Station until Monday when they will return to take plea.

Those who were arrested are Mr John Mutende, (supervisor) and invigilators Mr Joel Omagwa, Ms Edna Morwabe, Mr Gideon Nyagaka, Mr Bernard Omoro, Mr John Abuta, Ms Ann Nyaboke, Mr Joel Nyakwanya and Monianku Secondary School Deputy Principal Peter Arori.

Those found in the house were Ms Irene Kivunja Mbone, Ms Judith Nyabeki, Mr Alex Ziko Akuma, Mr Christopher Ogora and Mr Marori Edwin.
Also being sought are the school's bursar Mr Peter Onchieku and Mr Fred Okindo, the owner of a photocopying machine.
One more person is said to be on the run. Mr Muli said they suspected that it is the school bursar who had sneaked out the question paper to the group.
