Varsity student who died in horror crash given moving send-off

Hundreds of people thronged Omogonchoro village in Kisii County on Saturday to bid farewell to the late Dorothy Nyakerario, who was killed in an accident at Etora on the Kisii-Kilgoris road two weeks ago.
Ms Nyakerario was among six other students who died in a horrific accident which happened as they drove from Nairobi to attend a party at Magena town in Kisii County.
Two other victims, sisters Vinnah Isoe, 21, and Valerie Wangari 19, have already been buried.
One student survived the horrific accident.
The number of mourners that poured into her parents’ home and those posting tributes on her Facebook page was a testimony that she loved making friends.
The mourners, many of them youths, wore white and black T-shirts emblazoned with ‘Rest in Peace” and “We Shall Miss You”.
According to speakers that included media personality Felix Oduor, famously known as Jalang’o, Ms Nyakerario will be remembered for her liveliness and outgoing character.

MOVING TESTIMONY
To the family it was a trouble tragedy because they buried her grandfather three days before Ms Nyakerario’s death.
Her mother, Ms Helen Stima, gave a moving testimony about her daughter that brought tears to the mourners eyes as she recalled her last moments with her.
Her brother, Mr Vincent Stima, narrated how he had lost his best friend.
“We grew up together, went to the same schools up to high school. You can imagine how close we were,” he said.
In the condolence book, Mr Stima penned a touching message where he noted how he was patiently waiting for her at home and will never believe that she was gone.
“You told me you were coming home, I am still waiting for you Siz. The body I left in the mortuary is not you, can’t be you, will never be you. Come home, am still longing to see you,” read the message.
Secular musician Alloys Nyakundi, known as Mr Bloom, also touched the hearts of mourners as he led them in singing his song “Rest in peace Doro” that he dedicated to Ms Nyakerario.
Mr Nyakundi, who was the last person to talk to Ms Nyakerario via mobile messages, narrated how they had planned to meet when she returned to Nairobi.
