Passengers have been delayed at the Kisumu International Airport after a Kenya Airways plane developed a slow puncture.

Airport manager Joseph Okumu said the plane was supposed to leave Kisumu for Nairobi at 1pm.

"There is no cause for alarm. It was not a tire burst but a slow puncture. The passengers will travel at 5pm after the tire has been replaced," Mr Okumu said on Sunday.

Kisumu Kenya Airways station manager Caroline Ndonga said the problem is being fixed.

"It was just a slow puncture that is being addressed and nobody should be worried as all the passengers will reach their destinations," she added.
