Two people died and 12 others injured in a crash in Kisumu County on Sunday.
Kisumu Central police boss Meshack Kiptum said the injured were taken to Jaramogi Odinga Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
"The owner of the Toyota Harrier lost control of his car and veered off to the other side of the road before colliding with the matatu," Mr Kiptum said.
The incident occurred on the Kakamega-Kisumu road near Kiboswa.
The bodies are at Jaramogi Odinga Oginga mortuary.
Mr Kiptum told drivers to observe traffic rules.
