Kwale police seize bhang in morning ambush

Police in Kwale County on Monday seized cannabis whose street value was estimated at Sh150,000.

Matuga Deputy County Commissioner Benson Maisori said officers intercepted 305 stones of bhang after a tip off from members of community policing.

“Security agents received information about the drug and laid an ambush,” he said.

Mr Maisori said the of bhang was being taken to Kwale town through Miritini on a motorbike when was intercepted at Mbuguni village around 3am.

"We urge the public to volunteer information on illegal substances," he said.

Mr Maisori said the drugs were stuffed in two suitcases.

The motorbike rider and his passenger fled as they were being questioned.

"We are looking for them," the administrator said.
