The administration block of Lukenya University in Makueni County has been destroyed in a mysterious fire.
None of the institution's 400 students and staff was injured in the Wednesday morning fire.
The administration block which houses the vice chancellor's office and that of his deputy, the finance and the exams offices was reduced to ashes in the fire that started shortly after 1am.
Kibwezi Assistant County Commissioner Vitalis Ogur visited the institution and led efforts to contain the fire.
"We are yet to establish the cause of the fire," he told Nation.co.ke by phone.
The inferno was contained by the university’s community, neighbours and the county fire brigade.
However, nothing was salvaged.
