Suspect arrested after Migori worker's wife goes missing

A suspected kidnapper was arrested in Migori town on Friday following the disappearance of the 27-year-old wife of a county worker.

Detectives used a cell phone signal to trace the suspect to his house in the case that concerns Ms Lilian Adoyo Otieno.

PHONE OFF

A Probox car said to have been used to abduct Ms Otieno was also impounded and taken to the Migori Police Station yard.

The woman's husband, Mr Zachary Chesoni Wagaka, said she went missing on Monday.

Mr Wagaka, who works with the county as stadium manager, reported that his wife was last seen outside Rumours Hotel, located three kilometres from the town.

"The suspects lured her into the vehicle and sped off. Her phone went off," he said.

Mr Wagaka explained that boda boda riders near the hotel helped them locate the car.

"I pray that my wife is alive. Our children cry everyday for their mother."

County police boss Joseph Nthenge said police were searching for the victim and other suspects.
