Governor Evans Kidero has faulted the Senate over last week’s impeachment of Embu governor Martin Wambora.

According to Dr Kidero said the senators should have respected a court injunction that barred the proceedings that led to Wambora’s removal.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident and sets a precedence of conflict between the Judiciary and the legislature.

“Everyone has his role and that is why the Chief Justice has put up a three-judge bench.

“If there was an injunction, that should have been obeyed,” said Dr Kidero

Asked whether he felt he could also be ousted, the Nairobi Governor said that he was performing well.

“I was elected by the people of Nairobi and I’m carrying out my mandate as you can see,” he said.

The Nairobi County Assembly had last year discussed a motion to impeach Dr Kidero following the alleged altercations with the County Women Representative Rachel Shebesh but this has since fizzled out.
