Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday offered to find a job for Boniface Murage Wangechi, the man who was arraigned for attempting to sneak his child out of Kenyatta National Hospital without paying.

In court on Monday, Mr Murage explained that he had tried in vain to find the Sh56,937. He also appealed for help from well-wishers.

Later that day, a good Samaritan cleared the bill and the Sonko Rescue Team took his wife shopping for baby products.

The child Mr Murage put in a bag and tried to get out of KNH is one and a half years old.

COUNTY JOB

On Tuesday, a Milimani court released Mr Murage on condition that he does not commit any offence in three months.

And from the United States where he is attending a UN conference in New York, the governor said the 22-year-old man will be employed by the county government.

"This is to notify you (Boniface Murage) that you have been offered a job at Nairobi's environment department," Mr Sonko said in a letter.

He asked Mr Murage to report to his office immediately.

JOE KADENGE

The governor also instructed his team to pay legendary footballer Joe Kadenge a visit in hospital. Mr Kadenge suffered a stroke.

He said Mr Kadenge should be given all the help he needs and that the team should ensure he receives quality treatment.

Mr Sonko thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for helping Mr Kadenge’s family to settle his hospital bill through the medical cover of the National Hospital Insurance Fund.

"As the Ambassador of Good Deeds, I wish Kadenge quick recovery and urge all Kenyans to pray for him and remember other Kenyans bedridden in hospitals across the country," Mr Sonko said.
