Two senior county administrators were on Tuesday charged in Nakuru court with assaulting a police officer.

Kuresoi South Deputy County Commissioner Emma Kibara and Trans Mara assistant county commissioner Evans Kyalo were charged with assaulting Inspector Richard Mucume Kabira on July 28 over a disagreement.

Mr Kyalo was formerly stationed in the Kuresoi South offices.

The prosecution told Senior Principal Magistrate Liz Gichiha the duo beat up the officer who was on duty at night at the Kuresoi South offices, causing him injuries.

The two administrators denied the charge and were released on Sh10,000 bond each with surety of similar amount.

The case will be mentioned on August 13.
