Nakuru ASK show attracts over 150 exhibitors

More than 150 exhibitors are expected at this year's Nakuru Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show.

To boost security ahead of the trade fair which will take place between July 3 and 7, the management has promised to install CCTV cameras at the main entrance and around the venue.

INNOVATIONS

The branch chairperson Margaret Anami announced that at least 20 new exhibitors are coming on board for the first time.  

Ms Anami said that there is need to adopt modern technologies and innovations in agriculture and trade as reflected in the theme of the event.

This year’s theme is “promoting innovation and technology in agriculture and trade.”

“We are appealing to farmers and entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas to take part in this premier event which provides a favourable platform for the display of technology and innovations and boosts food security as stipulated in the government’s Big Four Agenda,” said Ms Anami on Monday.

AGRICULTURE

The sectors which have attracted majority of new exhibitors include agriculture, livestock, fisheries, horticulture, seed companies, trade, finance, transport, manufacturing, universities and tertiary institutions.

The newcomers will be showcasing their innovations in motor industry, textile, public sector, hospitality, research, health and insurance among others.

Some of the new exhibitors include leading investment company Cytonn, Kenya Defence Forces which has a stand this year, Jumuia Resort Limuru, Export Promotion Zone Authority and Micro and Small Enterprise Authority among others.

Others include Prestige Shuttle, Jumbo Tank, Mkulima Young, Dr Mattress Limited, Username Investments limited, Kipotagich Tea estates and Dyna Farm.

Ms Anami said charges for this year have been reduced to accommodate more people. Adults will pay Sh200 and children Sh150.
