Seven killed in Elementaita road crash

Seven people have died after a matatu they were travelling in rolled at Elementaita area on the Gilgil-Nakuru highway.
Gilgil OCPD Emmanuel Opuru said the driver lost control of the vehicle, following a tyre burst during the Tuesday evening accident.
"Two people died on the spot, while five others were pronounced dead on arrival at the Provincial General Hospital in Nakuru," said the officer.
Several other passengers who sustained injuries were treated at the same facility.
Mr Opuru said the matatu, which was heading to Nakuru from Kiptagwanyi area, had 14 people on board.
