KCSE candidate dies after writing Maths paper

A KCSE examination candidate at Gesiaga Secondary School in Nyamira County died on Monday after completing a Maths exam.

Keith Mongare, 17, collapsed in the examination hall, his parents said.

"My son has been struggling with a heart problem and was on medication," the father, Mr Joshua Ongaga, said.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Omboga Nursing Home.

The student was among 192 candidates sitting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education at the extra-county school.

His body was taken to Kinara Hospital Mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
