Fire rocks Bangale Secondary School

Fire has destroyed a dormitory at Bangale Mixed Secondary School in Tana River County on Tuesday.

Principal Samson Ko'kango said there are no casualties. 

"They were in class studying when the fire started, unfortunately we did not salvage anything, "he said.

The students were to sit for their end of term exams on Monday.

Meanwhile, security officers at Hirimani Mixed Secondary School foiled an attempted to burn a dormitory.

Bura OCPD Tom Okoth said security officers raised alarm and with the help of students they managed to put out the fire that started at around 7pm.

Mr Okoth said investigations into the matter will start on Wednesday.

There was a similar incident at Hola Boy's Secondary School two days ago, which the school administration attributed to an electric fault.
