Family seeks justice for defiled daughter

A family in Tharaka Nithi County is demanding justice for their daughter who was allegedly defiled by a neighbour this month.
The 12-year-old girl told her family that the man forced her into his home on December 22 and defiled her for hours before freeing her. She said she was abducted on her way to Mwiria market where she had been sent.
"I called him by his name and asked him to stop what he was doing. But he threatened to kill me if I continued screaming," she recounted.
MANHUNT
The father said they took her to Chuka County Referral Hospital where an examination confirmed she had been sexually assaulted. He added that they notified the police but the man, 38, went into hiding.
"I demand justice for my daughter, and urge police to look for the man; arrest and arraign him," he said, adding that his child has been psychologically affected by the ordeal.
Maara OCPD Johnston Kabusia said a manhunt is on for the suspect.
