Eldoret man charged with defiling schoolgirl, 16

A man has been charged in an Eldoret court for eloping with a form two girl aged 16 years and defiling the minor.

Victor Kibiwott Rutto is accused of defiling the minor between August 11 and November 26 in Roadblock estate within Eldoret town in Uasin Gishu County.

The court heard that the girl’s parents have been searching for her since she went missing four months ago.

The girl who was writhing in pain and looked weak was rescued from the house of the accused person by police officers who have been hunting for the suspect since her disappearance was reported four months ago.

Mr Rutto pleaded not guilty to the offense before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa.

The girl has been admitted to hospital in Eldoret following the ordeal. 

The suspect was released on a bond of sh100,000 and a surety of the same amount.
