Conservationists have called for a ban on the use of carbon emitting fuels to curb the adverse effects on people.

According to a recent report, the increased acidification of oceans and rising temperatures on oceans threatened aquatic life.

β€œIt’s unfortunate that wealthy nations continue emitting the bulk of the greenhouse gases and are not committed to the reduction of carbon emissions. We should conserve our forests, starting with the Mau,” said Integrated Lake Basin Management national coordinator Jackson Raini.

Mr Raini said there was need to find alternatives or scale down on carbon emissions, noting that the trend was worrying. This comes even as water levels in Rift Valley lakes continue to rise at an alarming rate.
