Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi called for transfer of police officers at Nthanjene Police Post whom he accused of abetting criminal activities among them sale and consumption of illicit brews in the region.

He said the recent attacks happened a stonesthrow from the police post. He said that the area had sensitive land cases.

The MP said he had written to County Commissioner Allan Machari and Mr Akong’o, seeking a complete overhaul of the police post.

“I wrote the county commissioner and called the OCPD to have Nthanjene Police Post overhauled because of the rampant brewing of illicit liquor,” said Mr Mwirigi.

He said raiders from Marega usually invaded the Kianda adjudication area when the crop was ripe for harvest, in a bid to steal from the farms.
