Actress Catherine Kamau popularly known by her on-screen character “Celina” during her long running stint on TV drama Mother in Law is returning to television. Kamau who left the series to start her own production company will next week on Monday launch her new show “Sue and Jonnie” in which she also stars.

“I’m really anxious and nervous for people to see it because this is my brainchild. When I left Mother in Law I wanted to start my own production and I had to get the A team; the best writer in the country who is Abel Mutua and an equally great director Philip Karanja,” she said.

Kamau says getting a television station that would pick up the production was one of the most challenging tasks in the whole process.

“Doors have been shut at me but luckily M-Net believed in me,” she told Showbuzz adding that the programme will air on Maisha Magic East.

Kamau also revealed that viewers will get to see experienced actors along with fresh new faces on her show. “When I was coming up with the concept there were people in the industry who I had in mind that fit certain roles perfectly and as a producer I was pleasantly surprised with some of the green actors and the extras,” she said.
