A fast food chain in Mumbai, India came up with the unique idea to ensure their pizzas no longer had to go cold while sitting in the city's notorious traffic jams.

Francesco's Pizzeria claims they are the first restaurant to use the unmanned aircrafts to deliver food to customers.

Chief executive Mikhel Rajani told Channel News Asia: "All of us had read about Amazon's plans of using drones.

"We successfully carried out a test delivery by sending a pizza to a customer located 1.5 kilometres away from our outlet on May 11."
