An interfaith organisation has brought together women to spread the message of peace through song.

Inspired by the aftermath of the 2007/2008 post-election violence, founder Jeannete Njeri, together with other artistes, decided to preach peace and reconciliation to the 42 ethnic communities in Kenya.

They later expanded their agenda and embarked on a mission to mobilise Kenyans from all communities to live in peace and inter-community harmony and cohesion, to educate communities on their rights through peace campaigns, seminars, caravans, the importance of peace love and unity.

“We went round the whole country, under the sponsorship of IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission), to conduct voter education,” she says.

Last year, they were among those who performed during Madaraka Day and entertained President Uhuru Kenyatta at Nyayo National Stadium.

In the same year, the group recorded their two albums, “Twataka Peace” (2012), and “Wakenya Tupendane” (2013).
