Mike Owuor

Mike Owuor is the Editor of the Sunday Nation. He has more than 15 years multimedia newsroom experience and has held senior editorial positions at the Nairobi Law Monthly magazine and the Standard Group in Kenya.

Mike holds a Master of Arts degree in International Journalism from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, Bachelor of Education (Arts) in Linguistics and Literature from the University of Nairobi and Executive Education qualifications in Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School, United States, and the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communication in Kenya.

Mike also has interest and experience in academic research on contemporary issues on the media. In 2016, he co-authored an academic book chapter, “Citizen journalism in Kenya as a contested third space”, in Perspectives on Participatory Politics and Citizen Journalism in a Networked Africa (edited by Bruce Mutsvairo, Palgrave Macmillan, London). He is a member of the Kenya Editors Guild and the Eastern Africa Editors Forum.
