Kenya recorded the highest Covid-19 recovery rate on Thursday after 570 patients were declared recovered within a period of 24 hours.

The number of patients who have recovered from the virus is now at 3,638.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said 512 of the new Covid-19 survivors were on home-based care and 58 were in hospitals across the country.

Mr Kagwe said the new infections included 409 Kenyans and 12 foreigners, the youngest being a one-year-old toddler and the oldest 93.

The minister announced that Covid-19 tally rose to 217 after eight more patients succumbed to the virus overnight.
