The management of Brookhouse School has denied demanding Sh45,000 from parents for their children to be re-enrolled.

The school said the re-enrolment form was for administration purposes as communicated to the chairperson of the parents’ group.

In the letter dated Saturday, Brookhouse Director Rabih Saab said the form is used around the world by schools to improve administrative planning for timetable delivery.

Administrative mechanism

“Brookhouse decided to adopt this administrative mechanism at the beginning of 2020 long before the pandemic issue arose,” said Mr Saab.

He said there is no payment in the re-enrolment form.

Parents on Friday had protested that the school was illegally asking them money for enrolment.

“The legal committee has advised that the parents should not participate in this exercise as it amounts to a new contract and an attempt to undermine the pending petition determination,” said the parent’s association committee.
