Special exam for disabled students in the works

A special examination for disabled students is being prepared and could even be administered this year, President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced.

The President said this yesterday when he hosted this year’s 57th Edition of the Kenya National Drama Festival’s winners at Sagana State Lodge.

The President was treated to pieces with various themes including examination cheating, national values, corruption, Beyond Zero campaign and nurturing creative talent.

The 10-day event was attended by more than 50,000 participants in Meru School, Kaaga Girls, Kaaga Boys and Kenya Methodist University. Hotels in Meru Town were fully booked and business boomed. Kenya National Drama Festival executive secretary Sirengo Khaemba said the event provided wholesome growth of students.

“Talent has been discovered and many careers have been nurtured in these festivals. It is critical that we join hands with the private sector like Britam to ensure that they continue to play this key role,” he added.

The festival’s national chairman, Mr Kahura Chokera, Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, and Britam Managing Director Benson Wairegi also attended the colourful event.
