Kenzo gets new job
Former Ogopa DJs singer Kenzo has landed himself a new job.
Kenzo, famous for his “Mama Milka” hit is now a licensing agent for Performance Rights Society of Kenyan and Kenya Association of Music Producers.
The two organisations, are licensed to collect royalties on behalf of music performers and producers, the same way as Music Copyright Society of Kenya. “I will be talking to club owners and music users, ensuring that they pay the required royalties, which at the end will go to musicians,” Kenzo told Showbuzz.
However, he insists that this will not interfere with his music career. “In fact, it will give me an opportunity to meet more club owners for performance opportunities,” he said.

Jay Z, Beyonce concert pranks in Uganda

Well, the rumors are still going on and now posters are circulating in Kampala indicating that Beyonce and Jay Z will be performing on December 24.
The posters are even branded with top beer brands like Eagle and Bell
However, speaking to several event organisers and showbiz stakeholders in Kampala confirms that this is all a hoax. “No promoter has sealed any deal with Beyonce and Jay Z, people are just trying to damage the names of these brands,” one of the promoters told Showbuzz.

Blaze: I don’t handle all international gigs
Artiste promoter and handler Buddha Blaze has been pushed to a tight spot all week to give music fans free “2 Chainz Concert” tickets on social media.
He was forced to post on his social media outlets that he has nothing to do with the concert, so he is not able to give people free tickets.
“I know I handle many international artistes when they come to Kenya, but I have absolutely nothing to do with the 2 Chainz concert,” he said. 2 Chainz was expected to perform last night in Nairobi.

Chidi Benz out of jail
Tanzanian rapper Chidi Benz, who was arrested a week ago in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is out of jail after he was bailed out by close friends. Chidi was arrested at Julius Nyerere International Airport after he was found in possession of banned drugs after he had just arrived from Mwanza, a town north of Tanzania.
He was arraigned in court on Tuesday and was later released on Thursday. His case will be heard on November 11.
