What you need to know:

  • To appreciate her customers, Rose has organised an auction this Saturday, March 24, at the restaurant.
  • She will sell the selected items to the highest bidders.

“If there is one thing that living in Germany taught me, it is that furniture shopping is a family affair,” Rose Karimi, the proprietor of Niche Décor Furniture, says, pointing at a sofa she says dates back to the 1900’s.

At Bella Italia restaurant located along Peponi Rise, off Peponi Road, several pieces of antique items adorn the wall. On one end of the restaurant, a grandfather clock chimes, while the figurine of Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin looks on from another corner.

When Rose decided to expand her business, she went for a concept that she had first seen in Germany – selling antique pieces from a restaurant.

“Our main shop is located along Kabarnet Road, off Ngong Road. When most customers come in, they enjoy taking their time to view the various pieces on show and wish that they brought their families, especially children, along.

I have since figured out a way to ensure that the whole family gets involved in the shopping affair. At the restaurant, they can dine and get to see the pieces on sale.”

SELLS VARIOUS ANTIQUE PRODUCTS

Niche Décor Furniture sells various antique products from Germany, ranging from sofas, corner units, to household items such as kitchenware, utensils and antique candle holders. The sofas are made from walnut, mahogany and oak.

“One of the factors that make Bella Italia a favourable place to shop from is that it is nestled in a serene environment, a setting that is great for both kids and adults. Besides, it offers great Italian meals.”

To appreciate her customers, Rose has organised an auction this Saturday, March 24, at the restaurant. She will sell the selected items to the highest bidders.

The event starts at 10am, and will feature live music and great food. A great way to spend time with family.
