My dad, Mzee Ambrose Julius Ngure Ngare, was a simple man who led a humble life.

He passed away in 2003 but today, I want to celebrate him.

He was admired and respected by many for his humility.

The greatest gift I ever had from God was my dad. He gave me the best education and catered for all our needs. He was a self-made man and was always there for us.

MY DAD, MY BEST FRIEND

My dad was my best friend and my boss. Whenever I did something that was exciting and he liked it, it felt three times as good.

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. It is always difficult to say farewell to a dad, but we will always remain thankful for the guidance that he passed on to us.

Dad, I love you for too many reasons to list down. I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to call you my father. In honour of Father’s Day, I would like to celebrate you: a magnificent man, a loyal, loving husband, a devoted father and a true friend.

Please know that my list of gratitude is endless and continues to grow with each passing day.

Thank you for providing me with a never-ending sense of physical safety and emotional security. Thank you for teaching me to be humble and for showing me just how powerful emotional and financial generosity can be.

I have tried my dad’s patience and even when he was disappointed, he never let on. He was happy for me to follow my dreams as long as I was being productive. And now it is time to say, "Goodnight, Dad. Let Angels take thee to thy rest."

We miss you and will love you forever.

RIP Father.
