What you need to know:

  • Motherly duties took priority over her career for the 32-year-old singer, but she did her best to combine the two when possible.
  • "In real life, I was this mother trying to get my focus and my dreams and myself back. Just because you become a mother doesn't mean you lose who you are."

Beyonce "worked crazily" to get back in shape after giving birth to Blue Ivy in January 2012.

The 'Drunk in Love' singer tried extra hard to get back in shape after giving birth to her daughter in January 2012, which made her want to show off the results with sexy videos for her surprise released 'visual' album, 'Beyonce', which came out earlier this month.

Speaking of her risqué clips, she said: "I was very aware of the fact I was showing my body. I was 195 pounds when I gave birth. I lost 65 pounds. I worked crazily to get my body back and I wanted to show my body.

"I wanted to show that you can have a child, and you can work hard, and you can get your body back."

MOTHERHOOD TOOK PRIORITY

Motherly duties took priority over her career for the 32-year-old singer, but she did her best to combine the two when possible.

She added: "I was breastfeeding, cornrows in my hair, because I was spending so much time being a mother. I would take a few hours out of the day and record.

"In real life, I was this mother trying to get my focus and my dreams and myself back. Just because you become a mother doesn't mean you lose who you are."
