Dog adopts tiger cubs

A dog has adopted a pair of Siberian tiger cubs.

The pet pooch, Cleopatra, has been letting the cubs, Clyopa and Plyusha, suckle on her after their tiger mum gave birth to the pair in November but rejected breastfeeding them.

The remarkable relationship comes about despite cats and dogs not traditionally getting on well together.

Zoo keepers specifically brought in snowy white dog Cleopatra along with her family to allow the cubs to suckle on her to keep them alive.
