Hi, I’m a first year in campus and have been dating this girl for the last six months. She is beautiful, really pretty and a good dresser, but her mouth really smells sometimes. How do I tell her so without offending her?
It's great that you're looking for a way to be an even better boyfriend than you already are. It can be incredibly hard to tell people that there is something going on with their breath, particularly because most people find it embarrassing and think it's a comment on their personal failings.
But, in the larger scheme of things, you have to tell her. She's going to be offended, obviously, regardless of how you put it, so try to be as nice as possible, in private, of course, and offer her a solution.
Perhaps she has halitosis, which is a medical condition that occurs even if you brush your teeth; you could offer to go to the doctor with her, or research on different types of toothpaste, or teach her to floss.
In the long run, she'll appreciate you not letting her go around killing people with fumes, and she'll know she can count on you to be honest with her. If she doesn't see it that way, then that's really her loss. Hope it goes well.
