What you need to know:

  • Interestingly, I wasn’t really searching for love when we met.
  • My wife, Mildred Sakina, joked after a few weeks of dating about how we were never really each other’s types.

I got married to a woman way out my league on December 1, 2018 at Leleshwa Getaway.

Interestingly, I wasn’t really searching for love when we met.

My wife, Mildred Sakina, joked after a few weeks of dating about how we were never really each other’s types.

To begin with, she wasn't short or light-skinned and I wasn't a “bad boy”. And she had no idea that I was a “big-shot” actor! Wow!

That we met and eventually married for me is not a mere coincidence but a “God thing”.

Here’s why:

It was unplanned. We met at a work meeting for a job that eventually never took off, at least not for us.

We were privileged many months later to watch the show together and we loved it.

Against great odds:  We had largely limited financial resources to meet the expenses of our wedding ,the bulk of which later came from highly unexpected quarters.

It's an unpopular cause. Who would have thought two 'in-between-work' artists would have such a beautiful wedding?

And we know how the world feels about marriage now, right? If it happened for us, it can happen for anyone!

I have a history of failure. So even as we came into this union I was under no illusion that I am unable to sustain it.

It takes the grace of God, every day, to keep the boat afloat.

I have faith that I'll be writing a proper journal on married life in a few years.

I cried. You know it's God when you're caught off guard by tears as you struggle to say your vows.

Actually the 'God Thing' is that I can put this out here without flinching. I love me a good woman.
