This is a reboot of the television series, Baywatch, which you may have caught if you grew up abroad. PHOTO| FILE

What you need to know:

  • In this revamp, with the classic running-on-the-beach shots littered all over it, Mitch, the head lifeguard, suspects foul play when drugs and dead bodies keep washing up on his beloved beach.
  • I’m wary of Priyanka Chopra’s acting choices, although if you liked her in Quantico, you’ll be fine.

This is a reboot of the television series, Baywatch, which you may have caught if you grew up abroad.

In this revamp, with the classic running-on-the-beach shots littered all over it, Mitch, the head lifeguard, suspects foul play when drugs and dead bodies keep washing up on his beloved beach. As if that isn’t enough, he is forced to hire a young new upstart recruit who happens to be a former Olympic swimmer, and also happens to have one hell of an attitude.

In the middle of solving the mystery behind what they believe to be murder, they get entangled with a deadly enemy.

I’m wary of Priyanka Chopra’s acting choices, although if you liked her in Quantico, you’ll be fine.

The Rock is as ebullient as ever, and you will forgive the script when you see the killer – pun intended – smile.
