Passengers narrowly escaped a crash when their plane made an emergency landing soon after take-off at Kisumu airport after it hit a flock of birds.
The Nairobi-bound East African Safari Air Express plane landed safely but burst a tyre in the morning incident.
Mr Antony Kegode, the airlines' boss, said all the passengers aboard escaped unhurt.
Another plane was sent from Nairobi to ferry the passengers to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Mr Kegode said his company had on several occasions protested to officials about the safety of the airport because of the presence of the birds but no action had been taken.
