Court raises Moses Kuria's bond terms to Sh10m in hate speech case

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria suffered a blow on Tuesday as High Court Judge Luka Kimaru enhanced the lawmaker’s bond terms in a hate speech and incitement case.

The judge ordered that Mr Kuria deposit a bond of Sh10 million, up from an earlier Sh5 million, or a cash bail of Sh3 million, up from Sh1 million.

The Gatundu South legislator was ordered to comply with the order within seven days from Tuesday.

In imposing the new terms, the judge said politicians must learn that their utterances bear consequences.
