  • Mr Oguna will oversight all government communication channels under the ICT ministry.

Former government spokesman Eric Kiraithe has been appointed to the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) as Chief Administrative Secretary.

This was announced Thursday by ICT Principal Secretary Jerome Ochieng, who oversaw a change of guard in the Government Spokesperson’s office. Mr Kiraithe has been replaced by Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna.

Mr Ochieng said the shift was one of changes effected within government in communications that will include the office of the Government Spokesman being hosted at the ICT Ministry, as government rebuilds its communication structure.

He said Mr Oguna will henceforth oversight all government communication channels under the ICT ministry.

The National Government Communication Centre, previously under the Interior and Coordination of National Government ministry, has also been moved to ICT.

Mr Oguna said he is enhancing efficiency in communication between the government and the public by establishing a toll free line.
