Huge fire sweeps through a storage yard in Mombasa

Firefighters are battling a huge a blaze at a storage facility at Kona ya Mtongwe in Mombasa.

According to officials, the fire broke out at Hardware and General Stores shortly after 4:30pm.

Fire fighting teams from the Kenya Navy, Kenya Ports Authority and Mombasa County government are battling the fire.

Kenya Red Cross Mombasa Coordinator Mohamed Rajab said no casualties were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
