Katherine Getao appointed Information authority CEO

ICT Secretary Katherine Getao is the new Chief Executive Officer of the Information and Communications Technology Authority.

Joe Mucheru, the Information and Communication Technology Cabinet Secretary, made the announcement in a gazette notice dated November 6.

TERM

Mr Mucheru said Dr Getao's appointment was effective October 11.

She will serve a term of three years.

Dr Getao's experience in the field includes membership to the United Nations Group of Government Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications.

She also oversaw operations of the eGovernment Directorate and helped design the Huduma Kenya project, through which Kenyans now access government services online.

She is a recipient of the Elder of the Burning Spear award by the president.
