Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested a suspected paedophile in Lamu.

Police say the suspect, William Hanga Mwazombo, was arrested in Mpeketoni on Wednesday evening and will be taken to court.

DCI identified the suspect as an employee of Wels Fargo and that he works at the Coast. He has been handed over to the Child Protection Unit of the Directorate.

The 23-year-old man, using a pseudo name, Sam Dali, spurred outrage on social media, after posting pictures of minors, bragging that he had defiled them.

He posted online several times narrating how he managed to entice the little girls with Sodas and money before sexually abusing them.

In one of the posts, he taunted the police, saying he did not fear them and that they would never arrest him.

This is not a new incident. Last year, Mohammed Alfayo was arrested and charged with defilement and posting pictures of minors on Facebook.

Another man, Boaz Omariba Arasa was busted boasting to his friends about his sexual affairs girls aged between 13 and 15 years.

Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti promised on Thursday morning to end the trend, adding that every sort of criminality will have be dealt with.
