United States President Barack Obama’s Kenyan half-brother wants to “make America great again”— so he’s voting for Donald Trump.

According to an online source, Mr Malik Obama, once a long time Democrat, said he is now a Republican who will vote for Mr Trump in the November presidential election because “he speaks from the heart”.

Showing his excitement for the endorsement, Trump - a business mogul turned politico - took to his twitter handle to break the news.

“Wow, President Obama’s brother, Malik, just announced that he is voting for me. Was probably treated badly by president— like everybody else!” read the Republican presidential hopeful’s twitter.

While we could not reach Mr Malik for comment as he said “it is too late. Let’s talk tomorrow,” the New York Post quoted him saying: “I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart.”

“'Make America Great Again' is a great slogan. I would like to meet him,” he added from his village in K’Ogelo.

He is also quoted saying that the change of heart came when the FBI announced they would not prosecute Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server.

Obama, 58, said his “deep disappointment” in his brother Barack’s administration has led him to recently switch allegiance to “the party of Lincoln”.
