A woman drank blood from three victims at different times, a witness told a court on Tuesday.

Ms Elizabeth Wambui Kimani is said to have drank the blood between 1990 and 2000.

Testifying in a case where Ms Kimani is said to have administered an oath to Mr Philip Onyancha, binding him to commit murder, investigating officer Samuel Muriithi said she admitted drinking blood from three victims in a dream.

He presented to Kibera senior principal magistrate Grace Nzioka a document Ms Kimani is said to have written admitting she drank the blood.

Mr Murithi said she presented the document to investigating officers after they took her from Kasarani Police Station in June last year.

Ms Kimani is said to have been Mr Onyancha’s teacher at Kenyatta Mahiga High School in Othaya, Nyeri County.

Ms Kimani’s victims are said to be Ms Anne Mwathi Myambura (1990), Mr Ben Kamau (1995) and Mr Peter Njenga (2000).

When the magistrate asked the investigating officer if they tried to reach any of the victims, Mr Muriithi said they had not succeeded.

The officer told the court that Ms Kimani wrote the statement at their offices, but later denied doing so.

“We took two other documents that she had written and sent them to a documents expert and he confirmed that they were written by the same hand,” he added.

The court also heard that Ms Kimani denied having known Mr Onyancha, but investigations had shown that she was the teacher.

A bio data document produced from the Ministry of Education showed that Ms Kimani was a teacher at Kenyatta Mahiga High school between January 1995 and July 1997, after which she requested transfer to Thika on medical grounds.

She was moved to Karuri High School in Banana Hill, where she worked from March 1998 to July 2002. Mr Onyancha, who has confessed to killing 17 women and children in various towns, is said to have committed some of the acts in Thika Town.

The hearing continues.
