A Kenya Air Force jet on Thursday crashed near Ilgwesi Conservancy on the Laikipia-Isiolo border.

A source, who asked for anonymity, said the pilot, who was the only one in the jet, survived after ejecting from the jet using a parachute.

The pilot landed safely.

"We rushed to the scene and found the ill-fated jet burning, we couldn't do anything," the source said.
